"Für Elise" (English: For Elise) was written by Ludwig van Beethoven around April, 1810 (when he was 39). This song, however, was not published until 40 years after his death. Beethoven, at this time, could still hear things, but his hearing was growing weak. He possibly wrote this song for an unidentified woman named either Elise, Elizabeth, or Therese as either a good-bye or a love song.
